Additional changes to the site…

More changes to the site today, with a purge of the user passwords table, as a security precaution, since there’s some sort of nasty WP exploit in the wild - I’d rather keep my users safe than keep an open invitation to let a botnet in.

More work is being done on BootZilla this weekend. All weekends are now development time for BZv6.

Minor Site Changes & Development blog

Since I’m working on getting version 6 finalized, I figured now would be a good time to change the site around a bit, add a donation link back in, and try to make the site a bit easier to use. I’ve added the official BootZilla Facebook page to the sidebar (click the small FB button), to help spread the word.

A more formal beta release is scheduled for release within the next week or so. This will include most of what’s missing from Beta 5, as well as removal of the code in BZUpdate that tried to detect administrator user elevation (which fails, I might add, on all OS’s that offer UAC). This version has also been tested on all versions of Windows from 2000 through 8 (x86/x64), with no additional libraries needed (beta 5′s wget is missing the openssl libraries, so it doesn’t work unless you google a replacement - this will be fixed in the next release).
